ODB provides holistic "wraparound" client services to community residents who are unemployed or under-employed, in recovery, homeless, reentering society as ex-offenders, or experiencing acute economic hardship.
ODB services are offered through five program areas that integrate professional services with individualized assistance provided by volunteer tutors, mentors, and advocates:
• Open Pathways offers workforce development training in these critical functional areas: basic job readiness, resume preparation, job searching, computer skills, life skills, employee soft skills, financial literacy, and household budgeting.
• Open Heart is a daily compassion outreach that distributes food, clothing, personal hygiene items and limited emergency cash assistance provided by individual, business, and congregational donors (must be an approved ODB client to receive emergency cash assistance).
• Open Hands is a community advocacy and volunteer mobilization initiative that coordinates community improvement activities and strengthens indigenous community resources and leadership.
• Open Table is a monthly community dinner served the last Thursday of each month at the William Paca Elementary School.
• Mustard Seeds is a year-round food pantry and clothing closet that assists clients and the general public.
• REBUILD, a new program initiative, will launch in Spring 2010 providing construction craftsmen training and related case management services to a select group of ODB clients who have demonstrated the potential to successfully complete a rigorous 12-month program. (See REBUILD dropdown on Client Services page)
